The Coleman Company, renowned for its outdoor recreation products, was founded by W.C. Coleman, who began the company selling the classic Coleman lanterns in 1900.  Since then the company has grown to become a dominant name in camping products.  What isn’t as well known is Coleman also manufactures luggage for travel, business, and even golf.  Coleman luggage promises the same durability and quality of their camping equipment, with the functionality of regular luggage containers.

Coleman also has a separate branch of the company which specializes in home heating and air conditioning equipment, a seemingly unrelated offshoot.

There’s no easy way to fly anymore. Remember when commercials used to ask us to “fly the friendly skies?” We know now that we can’t trust this saying because just getting through the airport is a fight. Passing through security can take forever.

The only way to make travelling more convenient is to make sure you have a good set of luggage. My favorite luggage for getting through crowded airports is a Coleman luggage set. These sets are easy to maneuver and stylish at the same time.

Bird Doo Don’ts

3 pc luggage sets

I never go anywhere without a good set of luggage to store my most fashionable apparrel. Well, I don’t now anyway. There’s a story behind my committment to sturdy luggage and it’s a bad story. Here’s the deal – I once went on a trip and stored all my clothes in an open duffel bag. It turns out a flock of birds decided to fly over. I couldn’t believe it, but the birds ended up defecating all over my bag! I was mortified and even more embarrassed when my friends, who had stopped by the airport to pick me up started laughing at me.

My life was almost ruined that day and my pride was in pretty bad shape too. Eventually I got over it and bought two new luggage sets. I wanted to start anew, to pack away all my old bird doo baggage. So I did – and it saved my life.

Lightweight Luggage: Not What You Think!

When the term lightweight luggage comes to mind, most people think about duffel bags, canvas carriers, or even fanny packs. But the truth is, lightweight luggage is often made of studier material than one might think. The polycarbonate material used in some hard shell luggage is both lightweight and quite durable. This material hasn’t been used for a long time, but in newer hard shell luggage models it has become the standard. While it’s not quite as light as fabric, its weight pales in comparison to luggage made with metal fasteners or even heavy leather. You can even find a lightweight luggage set made from polycarbonate material. These sets protect the contents inside, and won’t dent or scuff regardless of how the luggage is handled.

You never know just how rough or gentle baggage carriers will be with luggage, so having a hard shell luggage set that is also lightweight is a great asset. You can find polycarbonate lightweight luggage and lightweight luggage sets at most places that sell luggage, though not regular department stores in most cases. Invest in a lightweight luggage set and you won’t regret it!

sym_suitcase_luggage_cartoon_character_with_a_bright_idea.jpg A.    Polyester:   Polyester is a durable and resilient fabric. It has excellent abrasion resistance. For best results, clean the surface with mild soap and water and a soft rag. Do not saturate the fabric. For best results, clean the entire panel, not just the soiled area. After your fabric has been cleaned, spray it with Scotchguard. To restore its water, dirt and stain-resistant properties. Do not use these cleaners on leather trim.

Ballistic Nylon:   Ballistic nylon is treated with Teflon to repel water, dirt and stains, which makes cleaning your Coleman luggage easy. Clean with mild soap and water and a nylon-bristled brush. Do not saturate the fabric. For best results, clean the entire panel, not just the soiled area. Foaming upholstery cleaners made for wool-nylon blend fabrics also work well. After your fabric has been cleaned, spray it with Scotchguard. To restore its water, dirt and stain-resistant properties. Do not use these cleaners on leather trim.

Hardware:   Avoid oiling locks or hinges, since oil may leak in and stain case linings or clothing. If hardware should become scratched, rub lightly with fine steel wool and re-seal with lacquer or clear nail polish The cleaning products mentioned are available at leading grocery and chain stores nationwide. As always, when using any commercial cleaning product, follow the manufacturer’s directions carefully.

Carry On Luggage is In!

Let’s face it, in the past it never seemed like it was an issue to check luggage with the airline and have it stored in the cargo hold. But there seems to be a lot more luggage that goes missing of late. When luggage is missing, it can turn an otherwise enjoyable trip into a nightmare. It’s important, of course, for people to always keep the essential items like passport, wallet, and valuables with them at all times. But when clothes, hygiene products, and other lifestyle essentials go missing, it’s a real pain. For this reason, carry on luggage has become a lot more popular, and airlines have also started to be more accommodating to carry ons. Most airlines offer a fair amount of storage space above each seat for carry on luggage, and with a little creative packing, it’s possible for most people to pack a carry on with all the items they will need for a trip.

When selecting carry on luggage, consider Coleman carry on luggage. This luggage is renowned for its resilience, and made by the same company that designs durable camping equipment.
