A History of the Coleman Company
Almost a century ago, W. C. Coleman began making lanterns in Kansas. The company is well known for its lanterns still today, but also innovated the plastic cooler and the outdoor camping stove (which started in WWII with a stove for soldiers on the field). Coleman also manufactures lathes, grills, heaters, sleeping bags, tents, camping furniture, and other outdoor travel products.
In 2004, Coleman announced its intention to further expand into soft goods product lines, which includes apparel, home furnishings, eyewear and luggage. Coleman luggage sets have been well received by consumers, who praise design, durability, and price.
