Tips for Healthy Travel
Before Your Trip
Here are just a few precautions you can take ahead of time:
- Make sure your immunizations are current.
- If possible, delay your trip if you’re not feeling well.
- If you’re prone to air sickness, ask for a window seat over the wing.
- If you have any health questions, or if you suffer from a chronic ailment, motion sickness, or fear of flying, ask for advice from your physician.
- Stress is bad for you. Reduce stress by allowing plenty of time to check in and reach your departure gate.
- Always carry your medication with you in your carry on luggage—never pack it in baggage you’re planning to check.
- Wear loose, comfortable clothing and shoes for your flight.
- Make sure your carry on luggage has nothing breakable in it making sure that they are sealed properly in a plastic container.
During Your Trip
Here are a few things you can do to feel good while you’re flying:
- Eat lightly during your flight.
- Stay hydrated while you fly.
- Leave room under the seat in front of you so you can stretch out your legs.
- If conditions permit, try to stand up and walk around the cabin every once in a while.
Get Up and Try Again….
GET UP AND TRY AGAIN
A broken-will, a dream most shattered, is this to be your end?
Head down, furrowed brow and so despaired, GET UP and try again!
A spirit once with wings of passion, thoughts of what could have been
It CAN be done, no could about it, PRESS ON, HANG TOUGH my friend.
You’ve failed that’s true, WHO HASN’T?, I can’t count the times I have…
But are they stumbling blocks or stepping stones?, YOU must choose the path.
We all have shared rough goings, and YOU are not alone
Pity party? Cry of your past? Best start stepping on STEPPING STONES!
This should be a kinder poem, coated with sugar and cane.
Tell me what I want to hear, prove you share my pain!
I cannot think of a kinder thing, than these words a friend did in finding
“Quit the crying, stop the whining, and START the grittin’ and grindin’!”
A will most mended, a dream come true, when we CHOOSE to hear this friend…
PRESS ON, HANG TOUGH as so few feel sorry, GET UP and TRY AGAIN!

How do I take care of my luggage?
A. Polyester: Polyester is a durable and resilient fabric. It has excellent abrasion resistance. For best results, clean the surface with mild soap and water and a soft rag. Do not saturate the fabric. For best results, clean the entire panel, not just the soiled area. After your fabric has been cleaned, spray it with Scotchguard. To restore its water, dirt and stain-resistant properties. Do not use these cleaners on leather trim.
Ballistic Nylon: Ballistic nylon is treated with Teflon to repel water, dirt and stains, which makes cleaning your Coleman luggage easy. Clean with mild soap and water and a nylon-bristled brush. Do not saturate the fabric. For best results, clean the entire panel, not just the soiled area. Foaming upholstery cleaners made for wool-nylon blend fabrics also work well. After your fabric has been cleaned, spray it with Scotchguard. To restore its water, dirt and stain-resistant properties. Do not use these cleaners on leather trim.
Hardware: Avoid oiling locks or hinges, since oil may leak in and stain case linings or clothing. If hardware should become scratched, rub lightly with fine steel wool and re-seal with lacquer or clear nail polish The cleaning products mentioned are available at leading grocery and chain stores nationwide. As always, when using any commercial cleaning product, follow the manufacturer’s directions carefully.
What You Need to Know in Advance of Travel.
All travelers should familiarize themselves with conditions at their destination that could affect their health (high altitude or pollution, types of medical facilities, required immunizations, availability of required pharmaceuticals.
Insurance, Medicare & Medicaid, Medical Evacuation
If your insurance policy does not cover you abroad, it is a good idea to consider purchasing a short-term policy that does. There are health insurance policies designed specifically to cover travel. Many travel agents and private companies offer insurance plans that will cover health care expenses incurred overseas including emergency services such as medical evacuations.
Bringing Medications or Filling Prescriptions Abroad
A traveler going abroad with a preexisting medical problem should carry a letter from the attending physician, describing the medical condition and any prescription medications, including the generic names of prescribed drugs. Any medications being carried overseas should be left in their original containers and be clearly labeled. Travelers should check with the foreign embassy of the country they are visiting to make sure any required medications are not considered to be illegal narcotics.
If you wear eyeglasses, take an extra pair with you. Pack medicines and extra eyeglasses in your hand luggage so they will be available in case your checked Coleman luggage is lost. To be extra secure, pack a backup supply of medicines and an additional pair of eyeglasses in your checked luggage.
If you have allergies, reactions to certain medications, foods, or insect bites, or other unique medical problems, consider wearing a “medical alert” bracelet. You may also wish to carry a letter from your physician explaining required treatment should you become ill.
Places to Receive Mail
If you will be abroad for an extended period, you may want to arrange for the delivery of your mail. Some banks and international credit card companies handle mail for customers at their overseas branches. In addition, post offices in many countries will hold mail for travelers under their General Delivery services. U.S. Embassies and Consulates do not handle private mail. Check with the embassy of your destination country to see if that will be possible there. A listing of foreign embassies and consulates in the U.S. is available on the Department of State’s website. Foreign embassy and consulate contact information can also be found on the Country Specific Information for each country.
I hope you find this information useful and helps you in planning your next extended vacation.

Souvenirs From Across the Seas
One of my favorite things about traveling is the souvenirs I bring home. I discovered on my first international trip recently that there are a lot of governmental regulations regarding what can be brought back into the United States in your Best Coleman Carryon Luggage. Check the U. S. Customs official website before your trip! There are strict guidelines for products related in any way to wildlife, particularly involving endangered species. Foreign or domestic law will often prohibit import or export of these items, and travelers face a fine and confiscation if you attempt to bypass the rules. Prohibited goods include all products made from sea turtles; most types of coral, whether mounted in jewelry or loose; most crocodile or caiman leather; furs from spotted cats or marine mammals; feathers and feather products from wild birds; and all ivory, including rhinoceros tusks as well as tusks of African or Asian elephants.
There is one notable exception that often involves the import of ivory. Ivory may be imported into the United States if you can prove it is at least 100 years old. You will be required to present written documentation to that authenticates the age of the item. Other antiques containing wildlife products will have similar procedures to verify age before being approved for U. S. import, and other requirements for antiques may apply in addition to proof of age. For specific guidelines and the most current regulations, contact the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
When In Doubt…Carry It On!
There’s nothing worse than having your luggage lost at the airport, and when you check your luggage, there’s always a risk of that happening. More and more, people are opting to travel light with a single piece of carry-on luggage. When you carry on your luggage, you can rest assured that all of your clothing and personal items are secure, and there’s no risk of them becoming lost at the airport. However, you should also be aware of the rules and regulations associated with carry-on luggage. There are certain restrictions on liquids, electronics, and other equipment, and it’s important to know the regulations before traveling.
Coleman CarryOn Luggage comes in all shapes in sizes, but in general, it is designed to fit in overhead compartments and allow the owner to be confident about the location and handling of their personal effects.
Luggage Suitable to be Carried On
When it comes to air travel, carry-on luggage is a way to keep your personal belongings close and prevent them from becoming lost. Not all luggage containers are suitable to be carried on. In terms of what is accepted, consult with the airline ahead of time to determine the exact maximum dimensions and weight of a piece of carry-on luggage. We all know the traditional carry-ons, Coleman Molded Deluxe Briefcase, but other acceptable items include backpacks, duffel bags, and rolling duffel bags. In general, one of these luggage containers will be an acceptable carry-on with most airlines, if it is accepted by another.
Remember when you carry your luggage to pack light; avoid bringing things like hygiene products as these can be purchased on location. Also remember that most hotels will have dry cleaning services, so it’s not always necessary to bring more than two to three days worth of clothing.
